Location

Where to stay

We recommend staying in either Martinborough or Greytown, and booking through either Airbnb or Booking.com.

Accommodation will get booked up, as there will be other weddings and events on in the area, so we suggest getting onto this early. If you’d like any help, please reach out.

Getting there

Wellington is your gateway. From the airport, it’s about an hour’s drive over the Remutaka Hill on SH2 — a scenic route that drops you straight into the Wairarapa. A hire car makes the weekend significantly easier.

If you’d rather not drive, the Wairarapa train line runs from Wellington Station to Featherston, with a connecting bus into Martinborough. Uber doesn’t work so don’t rely on calling a last minute cab.

The Wedding Venue

Rose & Smith is located just outside Featherston, less than a 20 minute drive from Martinborough, and even shorter from Greytown.

Venue Transport

We will be organising transport once we receive all RSVPs and understand who needs what transport.

A few extras

Dress code
Dress code is formal. For the men, a suit or a blazer & trouser outfit. For the women, dresses in any style or colour you love. No white, cream, ivory, eggshell, or “but it’s more of a champagne”. There’s only one person wearing white this weekend and she’s already picked her dress.
Little ones
Our wedding is a grown-ups-only celebration, think of it as a free night off. We hope you can arrange childcare and join us. If you need a hand sorting something, please get in touch. Children are welcome to join us for the Sunday brunch.
Gifts
No gifts, please. We mean it. You’ve already done the hard part by showing up, some of you from very far away. Dance badly, eat well, and call it even.
